There are no words left to describe the emotions of being in Israel at this time in history. We must numb our emotions just to get by from day to day. The reality is so harsh… the suffering so great. How many funerals do we have to attend before something drastic is done? Our government is shackled by the handcuffs of international pressure. Yasser Arafat has the upper hand. He has nothing to lose. The fact is that Yasser Arafat, thrown on the diplomatic defensive by rejecting Barak and Clinton’s offer at Camp David, has done what he has always done…resort to violence to regain the initiative and create new underage martyrs on world television-to regain the international sympathy he had forfeited by turning down peace at Camp David.
