These
headlines continue to be part of our survival in Judea and
Samaria. I just returned from two very successful weeks of
speaking and fundraising in the United States. I will be returning
to the US on January 3rd and continuing on to three
weeks of receptions in Norway from January 20th until
Feb. 7th. The Christian leadership in Norway has
embraced our mission. I will be speaking together with many from
the top Christian leadership in Norway at receptions all over that
country. I will be in the United States again between February 22nd-March
12th and March 22nd-April 5, 2001. These
dates are filling up quickly. If you would like to book a date in
your community/Church, please email me as soon as possible at IloveIsrl@aol.com

Political
System In Israel
There
have been many email inquiries trying to understand the political
system in Israel. Briefly, Prime Minister Ehud Barak resigned
several weeks ago. This automatically triggers elections for the
office of Prime Minister within sixty days. Benjamin Netanyahu was
initially prevented from running for PM. because the law
stipulates that if a Prime Minister resigns, he can only be
replaced by a sitting member of the Israeli legislature (Knesset).
Netanyahu had resigned his seat. The Knesset then revised the law
allowing Netanyahu to run for PM. Netanyahu said “thanks but no
thanks.” He said he did not want to inherit the same difficult
120 member/16 party Knesset that Barak found it near impossible to
deal with. Seeing that elections are only for the PM and not for
the Knesset, Netanyahu will delay his comeback until general
elections are held in a few years. Several parties feared losing a
large number of seats and therefore rejected early parliamentary
elections. This situation has resulted in the Prime Ministerial
face off between Ehud Barak and Ariel Sharon on May 6. Confused?

We
are risking our lives. We can’t ask you to do guard
duty or military escorts to protect our children going
to school. What we ask from you is much easier…It is
only money! Think of our families…think of the new
immigrants we pick up at the airport…escaping
anti-Semitism…moving in to their ramshackle trailer
homes in Shavei Shomron only to be welcomed by the
gunfire of Arab snipers! Think of the children…the
children that we will do anything to protect…for they
are our most cherished possession! Fulfill your
Biblical mandate to Bless Israel!
