The Catholic priest and historian Edward Flannery, reflecting on Christian anti-Semitism, says: “The sin of anti-Semitism contains many sins, but in the end it is a denial of Christian faith, a failure of Christian hope, and a malady of Christian love. And the ultimate scandal: that in carrying the burden of God in history, the Jewish people did not find in the Christian churches an ally and defender but one of their most zealous detractors and oppressors? It is a story that calls for repentance.”

Hjalmar Svennevik and I attended Pastor Ludvig Karlsen’s summer convention in Norway between July 24-31^st. Ludvig and his wife Lisa continually demonstrate the highest level of support for Shuva Israel and building absorption centers and low cost housing for the next one million immigrants in the Biblical Hills of Samaria. Both Ludvig and Lisa (bottom left) as well as Finn Jarle and Anita Saele (bottom right) are the propellers driving Shuva Israel to great success in Norway. Friday afternoon, July 27^th, I spoke in front of 5,000 people in attendance at the convention. It was an amazing experience!  When I asked all who supported Israel, despite the lies in the media, to stand…the ENTIRE assembly of 4,000 people stood and clapped their hands in solidarity with Israel.  I thanked Ludvig and Lisa for their courageous stand with Israel. I said that very few  Christian leaders are willing to publicly voice their support for Israel because it is not a popular position to take vocalize in the present international environment. On behalf of Shuva, I thanked Ludvig for blasting open Norway for Shuva and for taking a bold stand for Israel and Judea and Samaria. Ludvig is a man of principle. He does what is right and doesn’t concern himself with being “politically correct.” The Christian leadership Eliezer of the world could use a strong dose of medicine from Ludvig and Lisa Karlsen and Finn Jarle and Anita Saele.

Shuva Israel was established two and a half years ago. I look back at our very modest beginning.

Back in November, 1998, I knew less than a handful of Christians. Today, we have strong support in Norway and with several Churches in the USA. Our database has grown to several thousand.

Sweden and Denmark are knocking on the door. A handful of friends in Nov., 1998 has grown to thousands. While sitting at the “Shuva Israel” information booth at Ludvig Karlsen’s convention, July 24^th-31^st, hundreds of people came up to express their love and support for Israel. Upon asking how many of the 5,000 attendees at the July 27^th meeting have visited Israel, approximately 80% raised their hands. It is clear that we have friends that have grasped the message of providing unconditional support of Israel and the Jewish People. I am very encouraged by the progress that is being made…and know that a tidal wave of support is coming….
