Below:  Tehiya (40 years old and 5 months pregnant) killed, Shimon, seriously injured, and Tzippi (14), seriously injured, in terrorist shooting one mile from their home in Ginot Shomron. These are our neighbors and our friends!  Eliezer

As reported in the Jerusalem Post internet edition…..

“Arab terrorists opened fire last night on a Jewish family travelling near Alfei Menashe, east of Ra'anana. The mother, Techiya Blumberg, 40, was murdered in the attack. She was five months pregnant and a mother of five.

Both her husband Shimon and their daughter Tzipora, 14, sustained serious wounds. Only this morning when he regained consciousness, did the husband learn of his wife's murder. Another child and a hitchhiker were less seriously injured. Shimon is listed in serious condition as he recovers from surgery in the intensive care unit of the Rabin Medical Center in Petach Tikva. Tzipora is listed in moderate condition in Kfar Saba's Meir Hospital following surgery to remove bullets from her abdomen. Natan Tzur, another victim of the shooting attack, is listed in moderate condition after surgery in the Rabin Medical Center.

Ambulances arrived at the scene of the 9:30 shooting without delay. Paramedic Chaim Chatalan was among the first to respond to the call, arriving in his private vehicle. He explained that after it became apparent that the advanced, life-support efforts to save the wife/mother were in vain, resuscitation efforts ceased, and she was pronounced dead on the scene.

Shimon Blumberg is a physicist who came to Israel from London. He and his deceased Israeli wife recently moved into a newly-built home. Friends of Techiya say that she was a dedicated nurse in the local infirmary, always willing to help others in any way possible. One re../side2nt says that when he had heart trouble, Techiya troubled herself to come to his home to take his blood pressure everyday, to save him a special trip. Neighbors are taking care of the children while the father recovers in the hospital. One of the small children insisted on going to the hospital to see for himself that his father is alive.

Funeral services for Techiya Blumberg will take place in the family's home town of Karnei Shomron at 5:00 PM today. Karnei Shomron is located 25 minutes east of Raanana.”
