Pictured at left are Boris and Marina Yanelov.

The Yanelovs are 34 and 25 respectively and have twin sons born two years ago in the Ukraine. Boris and Marina immigrated 18 months ago and came straight to our absorption program in Shavei Shomron. They were married several years ago in a civil ceremony in the Ukraine but decided recently to re-exchanged marriage vows in a Jewish ceremony in Shavei Shomron. This was the cause of a big celebration in Shavei Shomron as it was seen as reconfirmation that the ingathering is not only a physical move to Israel but a spiritual and historic return to the Biblical roots that communism tried to destroy in the former Soviet Union. After 18 months, the Yanelov’s speak almost fluent Hebrew and are beginning the process of finding work. Boris is a general technician and Marina an engineer. The Yanelov’s have decided to settle permanently in Shavei Shomron. We are thrilled with their decision.

In November, 2001, Jacob and Jacqueline Boot became Canadian directors of Shuva Israel. Jacob and Jacqueline have committed to Shuva Israel on a volunteer basis. Their dedication is greatly appreciated and lets us expand our operations throughout Canada without additional administrative expenses. Nothing creates credibility and honor for a non-profit organization more than expanding operations on the basis of dedicated volunteers.

We also thank Georgina Saunders who is assisting the Canadian office on a volunteer basis as well.

On behalf of Shuva Israel, let me extend a hearty “Yashar Koach” thank you, to Jacob & Jacqueline for their commitment. Their efforts are already bearing fruit. God bless you, our dear friends!

Jacob and Jacqueline recently completed a 10-day visit to Israel. They gained on site familiarity with Shuva Israel’s mission so that they can represent Shuva from the perspective of having seen and experienced it first hand. Jacob and Jacqueline visited our building site, met with Mayor Benzi Leiberman, held discussions with new immigrant families in our absorption program and much more.   Eliezer

Shuva Israel has just completed its third year as a non-profit organization.  When I began our mission of outreach on behalf of the Samaria Regional Council to the Christian community, I didn’t know a Christian anywhere in the world. Some of you who knew me in the early stages of networking can look back and marvel at the favor that Hashem has bestowed on Shuva Israel.

Some of my neighbors initially laughed at the idea of seeking support from the Christian community. They asked, “Eliezer, con../side2ring Christian/Jewish relations during the past 2,000 years, why would Christians support Israel”? At the time, I could only speculate as to the answer of this most basic of questions. Three years later, Shuva sends its monthly newsletter in three languages to several thousand Christian friends in the USA, Canada, Norway and Denmark. With God’s help, many Shuva supporters in Norway, Canada,  Ireland and Denmark will be added to our database in the coming months. By the end of 2002, our database is projected to reach between 7,500-10,000 in six different countries and the newsletter will be translated monthly in to four languages. A mere three years ago we stood at ground zero, wondering where the next contact and donation would come from. Today, thank God, it is a daily challenge to keep up with all the contacts and requests for information. There are barely enough days in the calendar to travel to the countries that are currently or soon to be involved. Last years income paid for the ongoing support of more than 200 new immigrants that have/are being absorbed in the communities of Einav, Shavei Shomron and Chinanit. It also covered the expense of part of the architectural and infrastructure plans of the future center in Einav.

This progress has come through the hard work and dedication of numerous Israel loving Christian friends across the globe.

As a result of our rapid expansion, Shuva Israel operates an office in Sandnes, Norway (Hjalmar Svennevik-Director) responsible for Shuva activities/fundraising in Scandinavia and Northern Europe. Shuva Israel also opened an office in Canada in November, 2001 under the voluntary directorship of Jacob and Jacqueline Boot.

I am honored and humbled to have made meaningful relationships with many Christian friends over the last three years. It would probably take me a year to thank each and every one of you individually. Isn’t that a nice challenge to have? Instead, please accept my deepest expression of appreciation through this newsletter.          Eliezer Braun

It It is an awesome privilege to stand here in the Shomron valley--the same place that G*d had called Abram to.  As gentiles grafted in to all the covenants of Israel, let us remind ourselves that in Joel 3:2 G*d will judge nations in the last days because they have 'divided up My land'.  ALL the land of Israel according to Scripture belongs to the Jewish people forever. The same reason for judgment is found in the Renewed Covenant.  In Matthew 25, Yeshua says that nations will be judged on a single issue:  "In as much as you have done it to the least of these, My brethren, you have done it to Me".  In the Greek, My brethren means 'brothers from the womb'. Our passivity or silence also will be reckoned as not taking this warning seriously. Paul reiterates in Romans 15:27: "They were pleased to do it: and surely they are in debt to them, for if these Gentiles have come to share in their spiritual blessings, then they ought also to be of service to them in material blessings."  Because we benefited from the Jews spiritually, we owe them a debt materially and what better way than to rebuild them. Knowing this, be encouraged that when we begin to obey in this, we are fulfilling a work of righteousness like K. Cyrus in Isaiah 45:13, "I have stirred Cyrus up in righteousness, and all his ways I make straight.  He builds My city and lets My exiles go, not for bribe nor reward', declares the Lord of Hosts".  Unconditionally blessing and a work of righteousness.

We must understand that this is for no other reason than for His Holy Name's sake. Ezek. 36. May the G*d of Abraham, Isaac & Israel bless you according to your righteousness.
