(In this issue we report on recent successful trips to Denmark, Faroe Islands, USA and Canada. Next month we will resume with featuring the story of a new immigrant family in Shavei Shomron, Einav or Chinanit)

In May,I attended and spoke at Judeo-Christian Zionist Conferences in Berkeley, California and Long Island, New York. The conferences were organized by Rosemary Schindler (Schindlers Ark) and Ina Perfido (Temple Worship Ministry). These were unique events and serve as a foundation for opening up Christian support in the United States for supporting Jewish Aliyah and Settlement in Judea and Samaria. The conferences expanded our network and opened Churches for Shuva Israel in several locations in the USA including San Francisco/Oakland, Las Vegas and New York. Thank you Rosemary, Linda, Ina and the support staff that made these conferences a success.                    Eliezer Braun

Resurrection Fellowship, Loveland, Colorado-WOW!

On July 14, I returned to REZ fellowship in Loveland, Colorado. In March, 2001, Pastor John Stocker graciously opened his large congregation of approx. 3,500 to Shuva Israel and invited me to share our mission and raise funds for new immigrant absorption and building. In 2001, REZ fellowship contributed approximately 85% of the financial support generated by Shuva Israel in the USA.  Returning to REZ on July 14th gave me the opportunity to share the stories of immigrants whom have and are continuing to benefit from their generosity. The response on July 14th was excellent. This Congregation and its Pastor are shining examples of unconditional support and love for the Jewish people and the State of Israel. On behalf of the Samaria Regional Council and the Immigration and Absorption program that currently settles 250-300 new immigrants yearly…REZ and Pastor John…thank-you from the bottom of our hearts.

We are honored and humbled by your yearly invitation to return to Loveland.       Eliezer

Our maiden trip to Denmark and second visit to Faroe Islands

Shuva Israel had it first series of receptions in Denmark from June 9-13 and second visit to the Faroe Islands from June 14-18. The response in both countries was outstanding. We were told to have very modest expectations in Denmark. Anti-Israel sentiment has been very strong in Denmark over the last year with numerous anti-Israel/Semitic incidences occurring on a regular basis. For the first time, security at meetings became a concern. The critical situation in Israel is forcing people to make a choice…either stand with Israel or believe what they hear in the media…therefore removing themselves from being counted among our friends. Thank G-d, I am happy to report that the six receptions in Denmark were very, very successful and resulted in adding many Bible believing Christians to our Danish database. Our second trip to Faroe Islands was even more successful than the first trip there several months ago. We added many names to our database and received the commitments of many for monthly financial support.

Many months ago when Hjalmar (Scandinavian/European director) and I looked in to expanding to another country on the European continent, several people advised that Denmark would be very, very difficult and that we could be wasting our time. After connecting with and receiving the unconditional endorsement from one of Denmark’s most controversial yet well known Christian leaders, Moses Hansen, we decided to expand to Denmark. In two of Moses’ recent trips to Israel he has seen Shuva activities first hand. He has met with several of our new immigrants and met some of the immigrant and absorption staff and volunteers.  Moses and his most capable administrative assistant, Mie, were busy before becoming involved with Shuva Israel.  Nevertheless, they captured the unique nature of direct involvement with our 33 communities in Biblical Samaria and found the time to become our major advocate in both Denmark and the Faroe Islands. This reminds me of several Israel active Churches and organizations that were approached to expand their activities in the USA to include Shuva Israel…only to be told that “their plate is already full.” It also reminds me of how one dear Pastor friend responded to his fellow Christians using this excuse…he said, “Eliezer, if they tell you their ‘plate’ is  full, then tell them to go out and get a larger plate.”

That is exactly how Moses and Mie responded. They are shinning examples of unconditional love and support for Israel and the Jewish people. They have been harassed, spat on and sworn at for their public stand with Israel…but they remain undeterred and only strengthened in their mission. Moses and Mie, the world has much to learn from your example.        Eliez

Our most successful trip ever to North American. ..June 27-July 24th

This is the first time that my travel schedule was completely booked with speaking engagements on Sundays AND during the week. The itinerary included receptions in Long Island, NY,  Salt Lake City, UT, San Francisco and Oakland, CA, Loveland and Denver, CO, Pittsburgh, PA, Columbia, SC, and Mistissini and Kingston, Canada.

And what is the result of all this traveling?

-Support allowing us to assist the needs of 200-300 new immigrants a year as well as covering the cost of the architectural plans of our first permanent absorption facility in Einav, Samaria.

Important notice. Please note that Shuva Israel is now sending USA tax letters twice a year on July 30st and January 30th. The tax letter will include all accumulated taxable donations during the previous six-month period. This will save Shuva Israel con../side2rable postage. Thank you!
